Voluntary Minister of Pastoral Care
The Rev. Gloria Lightsey-Lewis serves as the Voluntary Minister of Pastoral Care at Binkley Church. In her position, Gloria facilitates communication of support needs and makes personal visits to those in need. Gloria enjoys getting to know Binkley individuals through offering pastoral care and especially by providing personal opportunities for meaningful sharing.
When she is not volunteering, she enjoys exercising around Chapel Hill and the Carolina campus, traveling with her husband, Rob, and meeting new people. Gloria holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Divinity and Pastoral Care. She was ordained into the ministry in 1991 at First Baptist Church in Greenwood, South Carolina, where she and Binkley’s Founding Pastor, The Rev. Dr. Robert Seymour, both attended, and where he was also ordained.
