Change the Names

Change the Names was originally conceived by Chapel Hill Friends as a movement to change the names of street signs that upload a racist past. As an example, currently, they are petitioning Town Council to replace Cameron Avenue with Pauli Murray Avenue, thus memorializing Murray’s inspiration to our generation and future generations. Sandy Joyce will consider the underlying factors that went into original street sign choices, and the historical and spiritual vision around this important and ongoing reformation to affirm our diverse heritage.
