From licensing John Blevins to preach the Gospel in 1992 to being Welcoming and Affirming Baptists of today, our solidarity with the LGBTQ+ is fierce.
From our founding pastor leading a nascent Baptist congregation based on equality in roles in every aspect of the church to our current advocacy for reproductive rights, we hold steadfast for women.
From a young Coach Dean Smith standing up for Black teammate Charlie Scott to break multiple color barriers in the 60s to marching with Black Lives Matter, we stay true to building equity.
From licensing John Blevins to preach the Gospel in 1992 to being Welcoming and Affirming Baptists of today, our solidarity with the LGBTQ+ is fierce.
From our green committee in the early 80s to our multi-faceted, ever-expanding Earth Ministry of today, we abide humbly in creation care.
From feeding and sheltering our unhoused neighbors to our current advocacy for immigrants and victims of apartheid, as well as our ministry to incarcerated people, we are resolute in our support of those on society’s margins.
It’s a place and community that continues to live in the Baptist tradition of priesthood of the believer. Where each of us answers to their own conscience. Where we pray, sing, dance, laugh, cry, march, and occasionally, shout! Together.
We are activists. We are advocates. We are family. We are friends. Committed to Christ’s command to love one another, without condition, without condemnation.
If you’re looking for a place and community where you can be uniquely yourself (and loved for it!), we invite you to join us on our uncompromising journey of love.
