At Binkley, Children are welcomed and celebrated!
Our mission statement speaks to our hope for children, as well as adults:
The mission of Binkley Baptist Church is building compassionate and joyful community, freely exploring spiritual paths, and pursing justice and peace in the way of Jesus.
Children at Binkley engage with the Bible, share about their spiritual experiences, sing, participate in service projects, and enjoy playing together and making friends.
Sunday School
Sunday School classes for children are held Sunday mornings from 9:30 – 10:30 AM with some slight changes during summer months. Families are welcome to hang out together in the newly refurbished Children’s Sunroom.
Nursery
Binkley employs qualified caregivers, assisted by volunteers from the congregation, to provide year-round childcare on Sunday mornings for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
Worship with Children
On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month, children ages 4 through 5th grade are invited to leave during the 11 AM Worship service to go to their own child-friendly worship experience.
Binkley Tykes
Families with infants, toddlers and preschoolers are invited to join us on the preschool playground on the fourth Sunday of each month at 3:30 PM. We enjoy getting to know each other while watching the children explore this space.
Service Projects
We seek to be a generous church in the care of one another, our facilities and our wider mission in the world. Children are invited to join with others from the congregation throughout the year in a variety of service projects to serve those in our church community, wider community or the world.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School (VBS) is held one week during the summer. It runs from 9 AM- 12:15 PM on Monday-Friday. It is a fun and exciting opportunity to learn about the Bible, sing, create, learn, grow and play together.
Seasonal Opportunities
There are many seasonal events for the children in our Church and surrounding community. Some of these include a Pumpkin Patch and Trunk or Treat in the Fall, Christmas Crafts and a Nativity Reenactment during Advent, Easter Egg Hunts, End of School Celebrations and Church-wide Retreats. We want your children and your family to join us!
